IPL 2023: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to take up KL Rahul's injury case from the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise. LSG skipper KL Rahul sustained an injury during a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Ekana Sports City Stadium on May 1st.
It is believed that he injured his hamstring while chasing the ball in the second over while RCB was batting. Rahul was seen limping off the ground after the injury. He also didn't open the inning for the Lucknow Super Giants, but came on to bat after the fall of the ninth wicket.
There was no clear picture of the seriousness of the injury, but according to reports, the BCCI will be closely examining it. The BCCI will also decide on his further participation in the IPL depending on the seriousness of his injury.
KL Rahul was announced in the squad for the ICC World Test Championship 2023 by the BCCI just a week ago. With the World Test Championship just a month away, it has been a top priority for the BCCI to get Rahul fit for the final clash against Australia.

KL Rahul is set to miss the next few games but will still be in the Lucknow squad. All-rounder Krunal Pandey will take the lead in his absence. On the other hand, Lucknow has bigger concerns on its hands, as they have not only lost their opening batter but also their leader.
They already had Jaydev Unakat on their injury list, who injured his shoulder during training on Sunday. Lucknow now needs to fill the void in the opening, either by bringing in Quinton de Kock or Manan Vohra back into the playing eleven. It will be a tough decision to make, as they might have to bench the Afghan pacer, Naveen-ul-Haq, to play the South African.
