Simultaneously, the ECI will announce the election timetable for the Sikkim Assembly Elections alongside the Lok Sabha polls.

Sikkim, with its capital in Gangtok, boasts 32 assembly seats, with a majority mark set at 17. In the 2019 assembly elections, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) secured 17 seats, while the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) claimed 15.

Currently in power, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, led by incumbent Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, will contest to maintain its hold in the upcoming 2024 Sikkim Assembly Elections, marking the 11th Assembly Elections for the state.

The term of the current legislative assembly is slated to conclude on June 2, 2024, with elections for the new assembly anticipated to occur on or before April 20, 2024.
