Odisha Assembly Election 2024: BJP announces 112 names; names 8 women candidates, re-nominates 21 of its 22 sitting MLAs — Check full list

Odisha Assembly Election 2024 BJP Candidate list: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday announced the list of 112 candidates of the 147 Odisha Assembly constituencies, and re-nominated 21 of its 22 sitting MLAs. The party also named eight women candidates in its list of candidates.

The only sitting BJP MLA who has been denied the ticket was Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra from Brahmagiri in Puri district. 

In Mohapatra's place, his niece Upasana Mohapatra has received the ticket from the Brahmagiri Assembly seat.

Odisha Assembly Election 2024 BJP Candidate list: Major names

• As per BJP's list of candidates, party's state president Manmohan Samal will contest from the Chandbali assembly segment in Bhadrak district.
• Senior BJP leader and sitting MP from Bargarh Suresh Pujari will contest from Brajarajnagar Assembly seat. He was denied ticket from Lok Sabha, and shifted to the Odisha Assembly polls.
• Leader of Opposition and MLA Jaynarayan Mishra will contest from his traditional Sambalpur assembly seat.
• Three turncoats from Biju Janata Dal (BJD) — Arabinda Dhali, Akash Das Nayak and Priyadarshi Mishra have been given BJP tickets. 
• Arabinda Dhali will fight from the Jayadev assembly segment in Khurda district.
• Actor-turned-politician Akash Das Nayak, has been given the ticket for Korei Assembly segment in Jajpur district.
• Former BJD MLA Priyadarshi Mishra will fight the polls from Bhubaneswar North seat.
• BJP youth leader Tankadhar Tripathy will fight the Assembly polls from Jharsuguda.
• MLA Kusum Tete will contest from Sundargarh Assembly seat. 
• Biswaranjan Badajena has been given ticket from Jatni.
• Jagannath Pradhan has been fielded from Bhubaneswar Central.
• BJP has fielded Babu Singh from Bhubaneswar Ekamra.
• Prithiviraj Harichandan will be contesting on BJP ticket from Chilika Assembly seat.
