Maharashtra Election 2024 Date and Time: After the voting concluded in Maharashtra on Wednesday, November 20, India is now set to witness the results of the country’s third-largest Legislative Assembly, following Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. The state saw a fierce political battle this year between the two main alliances: the ruling Mahayuti and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). The Mahayuti alliance comprises BJP, the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction). While the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance comprises Congress, the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction), and the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction).

The state voters cast their ballots for all 288 Assembly seats in a single-day election on November 20. The polling was conducted smoothly from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM across the state.

In addition to the Maharashtra Assembly election results, the Election Commission of India (ECI) will also announce the results of the Jharkhand Assembly election, as well as by-elections in 41 other Assembly constituencies across 14 states. These include Rajasthan, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Punjab, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh.

Maharashtra Election 2024: Date For Vote counting 

As per ECI, vote counting will take place on Saturday, November 23, and the results will be announced the same day. The counting of votes will begin at 8 am.

The outcome will reveal whether the Mahayuti comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP can retain power or if the Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will make a comeback.

Maharashtra Election: Previous Results

In the 2019 Assembly elections, the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance won a total of 161 seats, with the BJP securing 105 seats and Shiv Sena getting 56. However, a disagreement over power-sharing led to Uddhav Thackeray breaking away from the NDA and forming a government with the NCP and Congress under the MVA banner.
