Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 7: The final or seventh phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, has witnessed a remarkable voter turnout, underscoring the strong democratic engagement across eight states. On Saturday, June 1 as polling continued, the levels of voter participation until 3 pm appear promising, with several states showcasing commendable numbers. The Election Commission's data highlights significant voter count across eigh states: Bihar, Punjab, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jharkhand. This phase is crucial as millions of voters are set to determine the fate of numerous candidates in these diverse regions.

The voter turnout stood at 58.3% across seven states and Chandigarh. Bihar recorded the lowest participation at just over 35%, while Himachal Pradesh boasted the highest turnout at 48.6%.

In this final phase, polling is being conducted in 57 constituencies across seven states and Chandigarh, with 904 candidates in contention. Campaigning for these elections reached its crescendo on Thursday, with prominent leaders staging large-scale rallies nationwide.

Key battlegrounds include thirteen seats each in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, nine in West Bengal, eight in Bihar, six in Odisha, four in Himachal Pradesh, three in Jharkhand, and Chandigarh's singular Lok Sabha seat.

Besides Prime Minister Modi, other prominent BJP candidates include Union Minister Anurag Thakur from Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur, Ravi Shankar Prasad from Bihar's Patna Sahib, and actor Kangana Ranaut from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

From the Congress camp, Manish Tewari is contesting from Chandigarh, while Vikramaditya Singh is in the fray from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, and Ajay Rai from Varanasi. Abhishek Banerjee, Trinamool Congress MP and Mamata Banerjee's nephew, is contesting from Diamond Harbour.
