Channapattana constituency: Key Candidates
In this year’s election, Channapattana will witness an epic battle between JD(S) chief HD Kumaraswamy and former tourism minister CP Yogeshwara who will represent BJP. HD Kumaraswamy has been unbeatable in the Channapattana constituency since 2004 and this election is likely to be a prestige battle for him.
The competition is going to be tough as Yogeshwara enjoys widespread popularity as an actor and director recognised for successes like as 'Uttara Dhruvadim Dakshina Druvaku', 'Sainika', and 'Badhri' and is a strong Vokkaliga leader which may have a negative impact on the traditional Vokkaliga voter bank of Kumaraswamy.
Another key candidate in the race is Gangadhar S. who will represent Congress.
