Karnataka Election Results 2023: The Congress has registered a thumping victory in the 2023 Karnatka Elections, and the party is set to announce its chief ministerial candidate in Bengaluru today (May 14, 2023).

The probable candidates - ex-CM Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar- are not much vocal about their candidature for the top post, but their supporters are keenly setting the stage for their respective beloved leaders.

Just a day after the rousing victory, supporters of both leaders pasted posters outside their houses, demanding Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar be the chief minister of the state.

Not only for the duo but posters also emerged in support of Priyank Kharge, the son of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

His supporters have also started a poster campaign, demanding that he, a three-time MLA, be made the CM.

"This is not only the dream of his father, it is the dream of all Kannadigas," reads a poster. A Twitter handle has also been created over the matter, said a source.

Though Siddramaiah, who was CM from 2013 to 2018 and veteran leader Shivakumar are two strong contenders for the chief ministerial post, there are others who can't be ruled out.

Apart from them, senior leaders M.B. Patil, Shamanur Shivashankarappa, Dr. G. Parameshwara, R.V. Deshapande, and H.K. Patil are also in the race to the CM's post.

Newly elected Karnataka legislators of the Congress are meeting in a hotel in Bengaluru today (May 14), where a call to select the CM will be taken.

IANS reported that the oath ceremony for the new CM can take place on May 22, Monday.

While these developments have yet to take place, supporters of the leaders have made their intentions known through posters.
