Karnataka Election Results 2023: As per the latest trends shown by the Election Commission of India, the Congress leads in 114 Assembly seats in Karnataka on Saturday, one seat ahead of the magic figure of 113. As per the Election Commission, Congress's vote share is currently at 43.2 per cent in the southern state, whereas the BJP stands at 36 per cent.

Here is the list of Congress’s probable chief minister candidates.  

Siddaramaiah: Former CM Siddaramaiah has served as the CM of the states from 2013 to 2018. He is among the major contenders in the race to become chief minister in case Congress becomes the single largest party. He belongs to the Kuruba community and has a strong base in the Old Mysuru region of the state. He is contesting from Varuna, a constituency he had earlier won twice. Siddaramaiah has recently announced that he will quit electoral politics after this election.

D.K. Shivakumar: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D.K. Shivakumar is also one of the probable CM candidates if Congress comes to power. He is known for building the party's base in the state. He has filed his nomination from the Kanakapura constituency in Ramanagara district, where he won the seat in the 2018 elections. He has a strong vote base among the Vokkaliga voters.
