Karnataka Election 2018 Details

The Karnataka Legislative Assembly's term will expire on May 24, 2023. The last Karnataka elections were held on May 12, 2018. The election saw a voter turnout of 72.13 per cent. 

Karnataka government was first formed by the single-largest-party BJP under BS Yediyurappa. BJP couldn't stand the floor test in Assembly and lasted only a week. Followed by the coalition of the Janata Dal (Secular) and the Indian National Congress, with H. D. Kumaraswamy as Chief Minister, which lasted 14 months before Yediyurappa and BJP returned to power in the state.

The Karnataka Election has scheduled on May 10, 2023 (Wednesday). The vote counting will be done on May 13, 2023 (Saturday) The winning party must have 113 seats to form the Government in Karnataka out of 224 seats.
