Karnataka elections: The partys manifesto was issued by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in the presence of state unit chairman DK Shivakumar and CLP leader Siddaramaiah, among others.
Ahead of the Karnataka Assembly elections which will be conducted on May 10, the Congress party has made five promises in its manifesto for Kannadigas– Gruha Jyothi, Gruha Lakshmi, Anna Bhagya, Yuva Nidhi, and Shakti.
-Gruha Jyoti promises 200 units of free electricity per month to every household.
-Gruha Laxmi Scheme promises Rs 2,000/month to every woman head of household.
-Yuva Nidhi promises Rs 3,000/month for unemployed graduates & Rs 1,500/month for unemployed diploma holders.
-Anna Bhagya promises free 10 kg of rice per person per month to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families.
-The manifesto called 'Sarva Janangada Shanthiya Thota' (Peaceful garden of all communities) includes the Shakti scheme which will provide free travel to all women throughout the state in regular KSRTC/ BMTC buses and the Gruha Lakshmi scheme under which each woman head of the family will receive Rs 2,000.
