Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024: The counting of votes for the 2024 Jharkhand Assembly polls began amid tight security arrangements at 8 am on Saturday. Around 9:15 am, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was leading in 32 out of the 81 seats in the Vidhan Sabha while the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) party was ahead in 28, as per early counting trends.
All other candidates were yet to lead in any seat.
The halfway mark in the state is 41 seats.
The Election Commission of India (ECI), responsible for conducting fair and smooth elections across the country, was yet to come out with any trend on its portal.
Electors cast their ballots for the state assembly in two phases. While the first phase of polling was held on November 13, the second was carried out on November 20.
As many as 43 seats went to polls in the first round and the remaining 38 in the second.

According to the AI exit poll by Zee Media, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance is predicted to bag 36-41 out of the 81 seats in the Jharkhand state Assembly whereas the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led INDIA bloc is set to win 39-44 seats.
Counting of votes also underway for Maharashtra and by-polls in 14 other states
Meanwhile, votes will also be counted for the Maharashtra elections as well as by-elections in 14 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab and Kerala.
