As far as the vote counting trends are concerned, the BJP has a comfrotable lead in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, the Congress is in lead in Telangana and Chhattishgarh.

The voting for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram took place on different dates in November.

While all four states saw voting in a single phase, it was done in Chhattisgarh in two phases.

Tough fight between BJP and Congress

Even though most of the exit poles are giving the BJP an edge, both parties are in a tough battle in the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. In Rajasthan, Congress chief minister Ashok Gehlot is banking on his welfare schemes in the state. The BJP wants to cash in on the upheavals the Congress government has gone through in the last five years.

In Madhya Pradesh, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan seems to have an edge over the Congress' Kamal Nath, but the Congress has a strong foundation in the state and can't give away the battle so easily.

In Telangana, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi is getting a tough contest from the Congress this time. The Congress has been given an edge over the ruling party in many of the exit polls.

In Chhattisgarh, exit polls have shown that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is likely to retain his power.

In Mizoram, the Congress and ZMP are giving a tough fight to the ruling MNF.

What do exit polls say?

Most of the exit polls, such as Axis My India, C-Voter, Matrize, CNX, Polstrat, and Zee News' Poll of Polls have shown that the BJP is likely to win in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, while the Congress can become the leading party in Chhattisgarh and Telangana.

When will the counting begin?

The counting of the votes will begin amid tight security at the district headquarters of the different states at 8 a.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2023.

The counting will be done for 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 199 seats in Rajasthan, 119 seats in Telangana, and 90 seats in Chhattisgarh.
