Suar Bypoll Election Result 2023 Live Updates: In a big joly to former Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan, the Suar assembly seat has slipped from the Samajwadi Party's hands. Apna Dal (Sonelal) candidate, Shafeek Ahmed Ansari, beat the Samajwadi Party's Anuradha Chauhan by 8,824 votes.
Shafeek got 68,513 votes, while Anuradha got 59,689 votes in the poll. The constituency, along with Rampur (Sadar) has been a stronghold for Samajwadi leader, Azam Khan. However, with the loss in Suar, the Azam Khan stronghold from the seats has finished. The SP lost to the BJP from Rampur (Sadar) seat in December 2022.

The Suar Assembly seat in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, is known as the stronghold of the Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, and his son Abullah Azam Khan. Voting for the Suar Assembly seat took place on May 10, and the counting of the votes began at 8 AM, Saturday (May 13).
In the 2023 Suar Assembly bypoll, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ally Apna Dal (Sonelal), or AD(S), has fielded Shafeek Ahmed Ansari, against the SP's Anuradha Chauhan.
Dr Nazia Siddiqui of Peace Party is also in the fray. However, the main competition is between Ansari and Chauhan.
Suar Bypoll Result 2023 is important for former UP minister Azam Khan, as he also lost his Assembly seat, Rampur Sadar, after being disqualified from the UP Legislative Assembly in a 2019 hate speech case.

While Shafeek Ahmed Ansari had an easy win over Anuradha Chauhan. The candidate in the third position was Dr Nazia Siddiqui from the Peace Party. She got 4,598 votes.

The Suar constiteuncy was formed in 1957 when Mahmood Ali Khan of the Indian National Congress won the election. He retained his seat in 1957. The Bharatiya Janata Party's Shiv Bahadur Saxena has won the maximum elections- (four; in 1989, 1991, 1993 and 1996), while the Congress' Nawab Kazim Ali Khan has been the MLA from the seat for the maximum period (15 years, from 2002-2017).
