Lumla Bypoll Results 2023: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Tsering Lhamu emerged victorious from the Lumla Assembly seat in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh. Tawang district is located at the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh. Polling in Lumla had taken place on February 27. The byelection to the Lumla seat was necessitated after the demise of sitting BJP Mthe LA Jambey Tashi. Tashi died in November 2022 at the age of 48. BJP fielded Tsering Lhamu, wife of Jambey Tashi, for the bypoll.

The Election Commission of India created static surveillance and video surveillance teams to ensure the smooth conduct of the polling exercise. The commission subdivided Lumla area into ten sectors. The People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) has pitted Leki Norbu against Tsering Lhamu. Leki Norbu is a former gaon burah (village headman).

Gazette notification for the Lumla bypoll was issued on January 31 and the last date for filing nominations was February 7. The last date for withdrawal of candidature was February 10. Lumla Vidhan Sabha seat has a total of 9,169 voters, including 4,712 women. The polling exercise was conducted at 33 polling booths in the constituency.
