Ganesh Chaturthi or Ganpati Puja, a 10-day festival, will start from Wednesday, August 31. The festival marks to arrival of God Ganesha on Earth. This year's Ganesh Chaturthi is special as there would be no Covid restrictions in place for the first time since 2020. The festivities in 2020 and 2021 were dampened by the pandemic-induced restrictions and people restricted themselves at their native places.
Also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi, it is one of the most eagerly awaited, popular and widely celebrated festivals in Maharashtra and other states.
