World Heritage Day theme 2023, World Heritage Day 2023: World Heritage Day celebrates and raises awareness about the importance of cultural heritage sites and monuments across the world. Established by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in 1982, it is celebrated on April 18 every year.

The theme of World Heritage Day this year is 'Heritage Changes'.

The official website read, “In keeping with the spirit of open, innovative, constructive intergenerational dialogue, and the strategic focus of ICOMOS Triennial Scientific Plan 2021-2024, as well as the 2020 ICOMOS resolution on Approaches to Cultural Heritage. the IDMS 2023 features the following theme: HERITAGE CHANGES."

World Heritage Day history

In 1982, ICOMOS established April 18 as the International Day for Monuments and Sites (IDMS). It was followed by UNESCO adoption during its 22nd General Conference.  Every year, ICOMOS proposes a theme for activities to be organised by its members and partners.
