The curry koottu is cooked with seven vegetables - pooshanikai (pumpkin), paranghikai (ash gourd), vazhakkai (plantain), pacha mochai (field beans), sarkaraivalli kizhangu (sweet potato), cheppan kizhangu (colocasia), urulai kizhangu (potato), katharikai (eggplant), etc.
