Apart from these A-listers, Ronit Bose Roy and Saurabh Shukla are in pivotal roles.
This action-drama genre movie is available in Tamil and Telugu language apart from its primary language Hindi.
The movie is produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Karan Malhotra.
In this film, Ranbir Kapoor has played a double-role of Shamshera and his son Balli.
The film, set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is being enslaved and tortured by an authoritarian Shudh Singh - which is palyed by Sanjay Dutt.
Shamshera in turn is a legend for his tribe who relentlessly fights for the tribe's freedom.

Meanwhile, the film generated a legal controversy where a petitioner claimed that the film is based on his works and he was not given due credit.
Bikramjeet Singh Bhullar filed a suit against the makers claiming that the film is based on his literary work known as 'Kabu na chaddein khet'.
The Delhi High Court, taking the cognizance of the fact that the movie has already been released in theatres, allowed the movie to be released on OTT platform.
The Delhi High Court also put a condition that Shamshera producers, Yash Raj Films Private Limited, should deposit ₹1 crore with the Registrar General of the court.
