Saraswati Puja 2023 Date: Saraswati Puja also known as Basant Panchami is a popular Hindu festival. It is celebrated on the first day of spring, the fifth day (Panchami) of the Hindu month Magha. On this day, Hindus worship Goddess Saraswati.

Saraswati puja 2023: Date and Puja timings

Basant Panchami will be observed on Thursday, January 26 this year. The Panchami Tithi will begin on January 25 at 12:34 PM and finish on January 26 at 10:28 AM. Vasant Panchami falls between 07:12 AM and 12:34 PM.

Every area of India observes it in different ways. People still dress in yellow and eat yellow rice, a widespread ritual. In Punjab, the celebration is known as Vasant Ritu and is known as the Kite Festival.

Students perform Saraswati Puja at homes, schools, and colleges. This day is celebrated by flying kites, and wearing white and yellow outfits. Students offer mustard and marigold flowers to Goddess Saraswati.

On Basant Panchami people prepares delicious prasad or offering to God. One of the standard dishes of this occasion includes Khichdi or Bengali-style Khichuri which is served during Saraswati Puja. Kheer, Zarda or Kseer pulao, Malpua and Boondi Ke Laddoo are also prepared.
