Saif Ali Khan's Stabbing Case: Bollywood star undergoes surgery; AICWA demands strong investigation

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was stabbed by an unidentified individual during a house burglary, has "six stabs," two of which are deep, according to a doctor at Lilavati Hospital. Post this, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) demanded an investigation into the crime.

Actor's team issues official statement

Saif Ali Khan's team has issued a statement on behalf of the actor and confirmed that there was an attempted burglary and it also mentioned that he is undergoing surgery.

“There was an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan's residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter,” the statement said.

Kareena's team requests to not speculate any further

"There was an attempted burglary in Saif Ali Khan and (his wife and actor) Kareena Kapoor Khan's residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is doing fine," Kareena Kapoor's team said in a statement.

"We request the media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the police are already doing their due investigations. Thank you all for your concern," the statement said.

Three detained in Saif Ali Khan attack case

The Mumbai Police on Thursday detained three people working in Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan's house following an attack on him at his residence.

The three were taken to the police station where they were being interrogated.

The incident took place around 4.00 AM. The actor is currently undergoing treatment at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital. Police have started the investigation and an FIR against an intruder has been lodged at the Bandra Police Station.

An intruder sneaked into Saif Ali Khan's house while he was sleeping with his family, according to police. A scuffle broke out between the actor and the intruder after he attempted to barge in, police confirmed. Later, the intruder allegedly attacked Saif Ali Khan six times and fled the crime scene.
