Tamil New Year 2023: Puthandu is a prominent festival celebrated by the Tamil people in Tamil Nadu with tremendous fervour and excitement. On the first day of Chitterai, the Tamil month, this ceremony is celebrated. As per the Tamil calendar, the Sankranti is observed as New Year's Day if it comes between dawn and sunset; otherwise, Puthandu is observed the next day.
