Paris Paralympics 2024: Here is how badminton players qualify for paralympics - Check BWF guidelines
Paris Paralympics 2024: The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and Badminton World Federation (BWF) today published the qualification regulations for the Paris Paralympic Games 2024.
The qualification period to gain points towards the Paris Paralympics rankings list starts on January 1, 2023 and it ends on March 31, 2024.
After the period is over, BWF is expected to publish the 'Race to Paris Olympics Ranking list' on April 2, 2024.
Athlete Eligibility
Singles: Athletes are required to participate in a minimum of three designated qualifying tournaments that are counted towards the Race to Paris Paralympic Games Singles Ranking List which is to be published on April 2, 2024.
However, an exception would be possible if a player has qualified in doubles or mixed doubles events and they are required to play singles.
Doubles: Athletes are required to participate in a minimum of three designated qualifying tournaments that are counted towards the Race to Paris Paralympic Games Doubles and Mixed Doubles Ranking List which is to be published on April 2, 2024.
Here also, an exception will be given if BWF invites qualified singles players to create a doubles pair.
Badminton events at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will take place from 29 August–2 September at the Porte de La Chapelle Arena.
