However, no official statement has come either from Mahendra Singh Dhoni or from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP).

Along with Dhoni and Shah, the governor of Tamil Nadu RN Ravi also attended the event. Home Minister Shah flew from New Delhi to Chennai to attend the function. L. Murugan, the state president of the BJP, and other top BJP leaders welcomed him at the airport, Zee News reported.
It should be noted that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the brand ambassador of India Cements.
