Mohini Ekadashi 2023: Rituals

The Mohini, incarnation of Lord Vishnu, should be worshipped first thing in the morning by devotees. You should get up early, take a bath, and break the fast by giving water to the sun on this day. Then, place the idol of Lord Vishnu at the worship location and perform Panchamrit Abhishekam.

Next, while chanting Lord Vishnu's mantras, offer incense, lamps, fruits, flowers, naivedya, and tulsi leaves to the God Vishnu. Perform aarti and read the Ekadashi fasting story. On Dwadasi Tithi, break the fast and, as a last act of kindness, provide food and Dakshina to the needy.

Mohini Ekadashi 2023: Significance

It is believed that the importance of Mohini Ekadashi was first explained by Lord Krishna to King Yudhishthira and by Saint Vasishtha to Lord Rama.

A person who observes a Mohini Ekadashi Vrat with the utmost sincerity and devotion is rewarded with numerous "punya" or "good karmas" as a consequence of its successful completion. The Punya that was given was equal to the Punya that might be obtained by making pilgrimages, holding yajnas, and giving away a thousand cows.
