In addition, on June 4, the day of the Lok Sabha Elections result announcement, there will be no liquor sales in these cities.
To guarantee impartial and transparent elections, Election Commission of India (ECI) has mandated that cities participating in voting must enforce a dry day on election day.
As per the Delhi excise department's notification, liquor shops and licensed establishments will remain closed for nearly 48 hours before the end of polling, from 6 pm on May 23 to 6 pm on May 25.
The seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi are – Chandni Chowk, East Delhi, New Delhi, North East Delhi, North West Delhi, South Delhi, and West Delhi – are scheduled to be voted on Saturday, May 25.
Haryana
The Lok Sabha elections for Haryana’s 10 parliamentary constituencies will be held on May 25 in a single phase. According to directives issued all liquor shops within the city are mandated to remain closed for 48 hours preceding the Lok Sabha election.
Haryana comprises 10 Lok Sabha seats, including Ambala, Kurukshetra, Sirsa, Hisar, Karnal, Sonipat, Rohtak, Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, Gurgaon, and Faridabad.
Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 6
Lok Sabha elections for phase six will be held on Saturday, May 25 in as many as 58 constituencies spread across eight states and union territories.
The sixth phase of voting will be spread across 8 states and union territories will go to polls. These are Bihar (8 seats), Haryana (all 10 seats), Jammu and Kashmir (1 seat), Jharkhand (4 seats), Delhi (all 7 seats), Odisha (6 seats), Uttar Pradesh (14 seats), and West Bengal (8 seats).
In addition, polling in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag-Rajouri, adjourned in Phase 3, will also be held during Phase 6 of the Lok Sabha elections.
