The festival of Lohri symbolises the lengthening of daylight after the winter solstice. According to folklore, in ancient times, Lohri was traditionally celebrated at the end of the traditional month, when the winter solstice occurred.

There is a lot of confusion regarding the exact date of Lohri this year. While some believe that the festival will fall on January 13, others believe that it will be celebrated on January 14. However, according to Drikpanchang, the festival will fall on January 14 this year, and Makar Sankranti will be celebrated on January 15.
