According to Hindu mythology, Lord Hanuman is the son of Vayu Deva i.e. the wind god and mata Anjana. He was born on Chaitra Purnima just after sunrise on Tuesday (Mangalwar). He was born on Chitra Nakshatra and Mesha Lagna. And that is why, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the full moon date of the Chaitra month.

Purnima tithi will start on April 5 around 09:19 am and end on April 6 around 10:04 am, according to the Drik Panchang (calendar).

Devotees observe a fast and worship Lord Hanuman on this day. It is believed that worshipping Bajrang Bali on this auspicious day gives relief from sorrow, grief, fear, and poverty.
