In a bid to prioritise the well-being of delivery personnel, Zomato has established 450 dedicated resting spots nationwide. These oases offer comfortable seating, hydration stations, mobile charging facilities, and essential amenities. Spanning over 250 cities, these rest areas are open to employees from any delivery company.

Hydration and health measures

Recognising the crucial need for hydration, Zomato ensures that each resting spot is stocked with water, juices, and glucose supplements. Additionally, the company has streamlined ambulance services, guaranteeing a swift response time of 15 minutes for delivery partners in over 530 cities. CEO Rakesh Ranjan emphasizes the importance of customer cooperation, urging them to refrain from ordering during peak afternoon hours unless absolutely necessary.

Collaborative efforts

Zomato's competitor, Swiggy, through its Instamart service, has introduced over 900 recharge zones in high-demand areas. These zones offer delivery partners a respite with rest areas, refreshments, mobile charging points, and restroom facilities.

Tech-supported health assistance

In a bid to offer prompt aid during emergencies, Zomato-owned Blinkit has integrated a help feature into its delivery partners' app. This feature ensures immediate assistance in case of health crises. CEO Albinder Dhindsa highlights Blinkit's efforts to alleviate the heat by installing air coolers in store waiting areas.

By proactively addressing the challenges posed by extreme heat, Zomato and its contemporaries are not only prioritising the welfare of their employees but also setting a commendable standard for corporate responsibility in the face of adverse weather conditions.
