The religious holiday is celebrated by Muslims worldwide as it marks the last day and the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. As per the Islamic religious beliefs, it is during the month of Ramadan, the Holy Quran was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad. It is believed that the festival was first started by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in 624 CE to celebrate the victory in the battle of Badr.
