DP World ILT20: DP World International League T20's trophy to arrive in Mumbai today- Check Details

DP World ILT20: DP World International League T20's trophy, the world's second most-watched T20 league is arriving in Mumbai on Tuesday (December 12, 2023) at the Marathon Futurex building, Lower Parel. 

The one-of-its-kind trophy, crafted by the renowned English trophy maker Thomas Lyte, is a thoughtful blend of Emirati culture and symbolism.

Drawing inspiration from the UAE's national bird, the falcon, and its iconic landmark, the Burj Khalifa, the design aims to capture the essence of the nation.

The 7-pointed crown symbolises the unity of the seven Emirates and is shaped like sand dunes in Abu Dhabi.

The second season of one of the biggest T20 cricket leagues in the world — the International League T20 — will kickstart on January 19, 2024, with Australian batsman David Warner among the stars featuring in the cricket league being presented by DP World and Zee Entertainment Ltd (ZEEL).

The league in collaboration with its global broadcast partner has announced the launch of its TVC campaign for Season 2 of DP World ILT20 featuring Warner and the league’s ambassador Harbhajan Singh.

With the theme of “Koi Kasar Nahi Chhodenge”, the campaign aims to underscore the league's competitiveness for one of the biggest T20 cricketing event of 2024.

The league will broadcast across ZEE’s 10 linear channels and OTT platform ZEE5. 

Capturing 367 million audience from across the world in its debut season, the league took just a year to establish itself as the second most-viewed T20 league globally. 

International League T20 2024: Teams

Six teams will feature in the International League T20. The teams are-

1) Abu Dhabi Knight Riders,
2) Desert Vipers,
3) Dubai Capitals,
4) Gulf Giants,
5) MI Emirates,
6) Sharjah Warriors.

The 6 teams in the league will feature in a total of 34 matches in the UAE. The opening match will feature Sharjah Warriors and Gulf Giants, which will be played in Sharjah.  

International League T20 2024: Star players

The International League T20 2024 is set to feature some of the biggest cricketers in the world, including the likes of David Warner, Dasun Shanaka, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Sam Billings, David Willey, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Alex Hales, Tom Curran, Rovman Powell, Shimron Hetmyer, James Vince, Ambati Rayudu, Corey Anderson, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Trent Boult, Chris Woakes, and Martin Guptill.

This is the first time, David Warner will be playing in the ILT20 league, and he has also teamed up with DP World and ZEEL to feature in the league's campaign film, along with league ambassador and retired Indian spinner, Harbhajan Singh.

Speaking at the campaign launch, David Warner said, “As I gear up for my debut in one of the world's most competitive T20 leagues, it's truly an honour to be the face of this season's marketing campaign. This campaign distinctly captures the league’s unparalleled stature and the exciting live cricketing contest viewers will enjoy over the 34 matches. It underscores the individual effort required at the world stage, with each cricketer giving their ultimate best. I am certain that the players will leave no stone unturned in their preparations ahead of the second season as they strive to emerge victorious in the upcoming edition of the prestigious DP World ILT20.” Warner will be playing in the tournament as a part of the Dubai Capitals squad.

DP World ILT20: When and where to watch DP World ILT20 matches? Match Date

DP World ILT20 is set to start on Friday, January 19, 2024, and end on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
