Dhanteras 2023 Date and Time, Shubh Muhurat: Dhanteras, also known as Dhantrayodashi, is celebrated every year on the Krishna Paksha Trayodashi of Kartik month. On this day, Lord Dhanvantari is worshipped, and people purchase personal and household products. It is believed that purchasing land, a house, a vehicle, gold, and silver on the day of Dhanteras is very auspicious and helps bring good luck and prosperity. This year, the festival (Dhanteras) will be celebrated on Friday, November 10. Know here the auspicious time for worship and shopping on this occasion:
Dhanteras Auspicious Time
According to astrologer Dr Arvind Mishra, the auspicious time to celebrate Dhanteras in 2023 will start at 12:35 pm on November 10. This period is considered as Trayodashi Tithi. And due to Hasta Nakshatra and Friday being on that day, the importance of Dhanteras has increased a lot, according to him.
On this day, Lord Dhanvantari and Goddess Lakshmi will be worshipped in the evening. There is also a tradition of lighting a mustard oil lamp in the south direction at the main entrance of the house after the evening puja. In many states, this mustard oil lamp is called Yama Deepam.

According to Drik Panchang, Lakshmi Puja on Dhanteras should be done during Pradosh Kaal, which starts after sunset and approximately lasts for 2 hours and 24 minutes. For Dhanteras 2023, the auspicious puja timing will start at 05:47 PM and end at 07:43 PM.

When to buy gold and silver on Dhanteras 2023?
Since the day is very auspicious, people can make purchases anytime from the beginning of Dhanteras till its end, according to astrologer Mishra. However, the most auspicious time to buy gold and silver is from 12:35 PM in the morning to 02:46 PM in the afternoon.
Auspicious Time for Shopping Other Items
According to the astrologer, people can begin purchases on Dhanteras from 12:35 PM till its closing the next day, i.e., 01:57 PM on November 11. However, it should be noted that people must avoid buying anything during Rahukaal, which will be from 10:41 am to 12:03 pm.
The most auspicious time for buying fixed and movable items like houses, vehicles, Ganesh-Lakshmi, etc., starts from 12:35 PM in the morning to 02:46 PM in the afternoon. Apart from this, the auspicious time for buying electronic items like washing machines, televisions, AC, refrigerators, etc. is from 05:49 PM to 09:51 PM.
Additionally, people can also buy from 09:51 pm to 12:24 am on November 10. This time period is also auspicious.
