Delhi Airport has reached a milestone, becoming the first airport in India to connect with 150 destinations. On Sunday, Thai AirAsia X launched direct flights between Delhi and Bangkok-Don Mueang (DMK), marking the 150th destination linked to the airport. The new route will operate with Airbus A330 aircraft at a twice-weekly frequency, increasing to four times a week by mid-January 2025.

Highlights of Delhi Airport's Growth

1. Expanding International Connectivity:

  • Over the years, Delhi Airport has added over 20 exclusive international destinations, including Phnom Penh, Bali Denpasar, Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver, Washington Dulles, Chicago O’Hare, and Tokyo Haneda.

2. Leading Transfer Passenger Hub:

  • In the past decade, Delhi Airport has doubled its transfer passenger volume, reinforcing its status as a key transit hub in South Asia.

3. Preferred for Long-Haul Travel:

  • Delhi connects to 88% of all long-haul destinations from India.
  • 56% of weekly long-haul flights departing from India operate from Delhi.
  • 42% of long-haul passengers from India choose Delhi Airport as their gateway.

4. Domestic to International Connectivity:

  • The airport facilitates seamless transit for 4 million domestic passengers annually, connecting them to international destinations.
