Ratan Tata Death: Several cricket industry players and officials joined in mourning the demise of veteran industrialist and philanthropist Ratan Tata, who passed away at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday night at the age of 86.
The cricket community pays homage
Sachin Tendulkar, known as Master Blaster, said, "In his life, and demise, Mr Ratan Tata has moved the nation. I was fortunate to spend time with him, but millions, who have never met him, feel the same grief that I feel today. Such is his impact.
"From his love for animals to philanthropy, he showed that true progress can only be achieved when we care for those who don’t have the means to take care of themselves. Rest in peace, Mr Tata. Your legacy will continue to live through the institutions you built and values that you embraced," further said.
Legend cricketer, Virat Kohli in his Instagram wrote, "Forever in our hearts, Rest in peace sir."
Rohit Sharma said, "A man with a heart of gold. Sir, you will forever be remembered as someone who truly cared and lived his life to make everyone else's better."
Jay Shah, BCCI secretary, said, "Deeply saddened by the loss of Shri Ratan Tata Ji. His leadership, integrity, and dedication to society set a remarkable standard for legacy. My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones. Rest in peace, Sir."
Men's cricket team coach - Gautam Gambhir posted on X, "A true gem of Mother India!"
Surakumar Yadav, T20 captain of India team, expressed, "The epitome of kindness, most inspirational, marvel of a man. Sir, you have touched so many hearts. Your life has been a blessing to the nation. Thank you for your endless and unconditional service. Your legacy will live on. Rest in glory, sir."
Cricketer Shubman Gill took to X to express his condolences, "Deeply saddened by the loss of Ratan Tata ji, a visionary leader and true titan who shaped industries and inspired generations. His legacy will continue to guide us. May he rest in peace."
