41 medicines to get cheaper as government fixes prices of medicines and formulations

Purchasing medicines can be a costly affair for everyone, specially at a time when medical inflation increases faster than the normal inflation in India.

But to the relief of crores of medicine buyers across the country, as many as 41 medicines will get cheaper as the government has fixed the price for 41 medicines and 6 formulations.

The central government said that the prices of sugar, pain, heart, liver, antacid, infection, allergy, multivitamin, and antibiotics have been fixed.

The decision to slash the prices of medicines was taken in the 143rd meeting of NPPA.

The governemnt has also given instructions to companies to immediately inform to dealers and stockists about the price cut decision.

Additionally, GST can be charged only if the company has paid, the government order reads.
