On the personal front, KL Rahul scored the fastest World Cup ton for India as he raced to a 62-ball century against Netherlands on Sunday. On the other hand, skipper Rohit Sharma set the world record of hitting the maximum sixes in ODI cricket in a calendar year. He has hit 60 sixes in One-dayers so far this year, improving on the record of South African Quinton de Kock, who smashed 58 sixes in 2015.

After setting a target of 411 runs, India bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each as India eased to a 160-run victory. From Netherlands, Teja Nidamanuru (54 runs off 39 balls) and Sybrand Engelbrecht (45 runs off 80 balls) were the top scorers. But their efforts were too short to India's mammoth score.

From India, Rohit Sharma (61 runs off 54 balls) and Shubman Gill (51 runs off 32 balls) laid a solid foundation of the innings, knitting 100 runs for the opening partnership. Virat Kohli also scored 51 runs in 56 balls. The next two batsmen- Shreyas Iyer (128 runs not out in 94 balls) and wicketkeeper KL Rahul (102 runs in 64 balls) powered team to large total of 410 runs for four wickets in 50 overs.

India beat Netherlands by 160 runs in their last round-robin match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Satdium in Bengaluru on Sunday (November 12). The last over was bowled by none other than India skipper Rohit Sharma himself. Netherlands' Nidamanuru completed his courageous fifty in just 38 balls, hitting his sixth six in the match off Rohit's fourth delivery of the 49th over. The batsman wanted to go for a big again, but this time, he was caught at long-on by Shami.
