Sarath Babu health news today: Veteran actor Sarath Babu passed away at a hospital in Hyderabad on Monday, reports said. He had been hospitalised for a while and his condition was stated to be critical. The 71-year-old veteran actor was reportedly on ventilator at Hyderabad's AIG Hospitals. Sarath Babu had not been keeping well for some time and he'd been brought to Hyderabad from Bengaluru after his condition worsened. The actor was reportedly under treatment for multi-organ damage.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Sarath Babu a "versatile and creative" actor and offered his condolences to the family. "Sarath Babu Ji was versatile and creative. He will be remembered for several popular works in several languages during his long film career. Pained by his passing away. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti," PM Modi tweeted.

Sarath Babu, whose real name is Satyam Babu Dixithulu, began his acting career in 1973 with a Telugu film.
He is well-known for his hit Telugu and Tamil films. He also starred in a few Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam films.
Over his long and illustrious career, he has bagged nine Nandi awards for best actor in supporting roles.
Hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Sarath Babu wanted to be a police officer but could not realise his dream because of an eyesight problem.
His father wanted him to join his business but with the support of his mother, he entered the film industry and established himself as an actor.
