A grand announcement was made last year about a film being made on the popular superhero show Shaktimaan. Simultaneously, the rumour that Ranveer Singh would be playing the lead created a buzz. However, there were no confirmations regarding the same. Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, who played the role of Shaktimaan, still enjoys a huge popularity and his fans are demanding to return with the show.
Now, there is an update regarding the much talked about film on the superhero series.
Recently, on his YouTube channel, Bheeshm International, Khanna said, "Contracts have been signed regarding the film. This is a film of very high quality. This movie will be made with a budget of Rs 200–300 crore. The film will be made by Sony Pictures, which made Spider-Man, though it will be a little delayed."
He further said that this is not a small film. In such a situation, the project will take time to be completed. A lot of things are happening in this film.
The veteran actor who rose to prominence after playing Bhishma in Mahabharat, said that he cannot disclose much about the film, but revealed that he won’t be playing the lead role in the movie.
"It cannot become Shaktimaan with me," he said.
Shaktimaan was launched on television in September 1997 and was successfully aired for nearly 8 years. The show was one of the most popular and longest-running shows on Doordarshan. It was conceptualised by Mukesh Khanna himself.
