However, the three-day collection disappointed movie critics as Khan's movie merely collected Rs 11.70 crore, 7.26 crore and 9 crore on Thursday, Friday and Saturday respectively. The overall collection stood at Rs 27.96 crore in the last three days.

"#LaalSinghChaddha witnesses marginal growth on Day 3 - due to the weekend factor - but that's not enough... Should've scored in double digits to salvage the situation... 3-day total is way below the mark... Thu 11.70 cr, Fri 7.26 cr, Sat 9 cr. Total: ₹ 27.96 cr. #India biz," tweeted movie critic Taran Adarsh.

Opposite to Aamir Khan-starrer movie, Akshay Kumar's Raksha Bandhan continued to underperform at the Box office even on Day 3. The movie which was released on a holiday weekend on the same day as when 'Laal Singh Chaddha' was released, turned out to be a big disappointment.

As per the critic Taran, Raksha Bandhan collection shows no upturn on Day 3.

"Raksha Bandhan shows no upturn on Day 3... Remains in the same range as Day 2, despite the weekend factor... 3-day total is definitely distressing... Needs to gather speed on the two big days [Sun-Mon]... Thu 8.20 cr, Fri 6.40 cr, Sat 6.51 cr. Total: ₹ 21.11 cr. #India biz," tweeted movie critic Taran Adarsh.

"Laal Singh Chaddha" was directed by Advait Chandan of "Secret Superstar" fame and adapted by noted actor Atul Kulkarni. The film is the official remake of the 1994 Tom Hanks-starrer.
