The Kerala Story Box Office Collection Day 3: Adah Sharma's film earns 35.75 crore in three days

The Kerala Story Box Office Collection Day 3: Director Sudipto Sen's The Kerala Story, featuring Adah Sharma in the lead role, hit threatres last week after controversies. The movie was declared tax-free in Madhya Pradesh. However the film's screening was cancelled in many theatres in Tamil Nadu and several other states. The movie has earned a decent amount in just three days.

The Kerala Story Box Office Collection Day 3: Total collection 

On its opening day on Friday, May 5, the film earned Rs 8.03 crore (net) in India. However, the film is estimated to have minted Rs 16.50 crore (net) at the domestic box office on Sunday, May 7, which means more than twice the collection on its first day. On day 2, the movie earned Rs 12.50 crore. The producers of The Kerala Story have not yet revealed any details about OTT release.

The day 1 collection is the fifth-highest opening for a Hindi film in 2023 after Pathaan (Rs 55 crore), Salman Khan-starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (Rs 15.81 crore), Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's romance drama TJMM (Rs 15.7 crore), and Ajay Devgn's Bholaa (Rs 11.20 crore). Its first-day collection was more than that of Shehzada starring Kartik Aaryan and Akshay Kumar-Emraan Hashmi flick Selfiee.

Its opening-day revenue exceeded that of Akshay Kumar-Emraan Hashmi's Selfiee and Shehzada films starring Kartik Aaryan.

Political parties and social organisations are supporting the film, despite criticism that it is "spreading hate propaganda against Kerala"

On Sunday, a special screening of the movie was held in Bengaluru's Garuda Mall. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda attended it and told the reporters, "There's a new type of terrorism which is without ammunition, Kerala Story exposes that poisonous terrorism. This kind of terrorism isn't related to any state or religion..."
