Dream Girl 2 Postponed: Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer film 'Dream Girl 2' has now got a new release date. The sequel of the 2019 hit 'Dream Girl' will now arrive in cinema halls on Friday, August 25. Initially, it was scheduled to release on July 7.

Khurrana took to Twitter to make the announcement. He posted a note along with an audio message on his social media, announcing the new release date of his movie. The actor captioned the post, “Pachees badi hai mast mast, kyunki @pooja___dreamgirl aa rahi hai on 25 अगस्त. #PoojaKiKissOnAug25 #DreamGirl2 releasing in theatres on 25th August, 2023 (sic).”

While the audio message in the post, recorded in the voice of Ayushmann’s character in the film - ‘Pooja’, reads out the following note: "Mere priya aashiqon, chaar saal baad aapke dil ka telephone phir se ring ring hoga. Ab iske liye taiyaari bhi toh shaandaar, dhamakedaar aur smoochiebhari honi chahiye na? Toh karo thoda aur intezaar. And keep sending lots of pyaar! Ab #7KoSaathMein nahin, Pooja ki kiss on August Pachees! Dream Girl 2 releasing in theatres on 25th August 2023. - Aapki pyaari Pooja (sic)."

Why was 'Dream Girl 2' Release Date Postponed?

According to Ektaa R Kapoor, Joint Managing Director - Balaji Telefilms Limited, the release was postponed to better the visual effects (VFX) of the film. She said, "We want Ayushmann Khurrana's character to look perfect as Pooja in 'Dream Girl 2', and that's why we are taking extra time to perfect the VFX work for the face."

"We want to ensure that our viewers get the best possible experience when they watch the movie. The VFX work for 'Dream Girl 2' is an integral part of the movie, and we want to ensure that we deliver a high-quality product to our audiences," the producer added.

About Dream Girl 2

'Dream Girl 2' is a sequel to the 2019 comedy-drama movie 'Dream Girl'. The film stars Khurrana, who plays Karam, a man whose female voice impersonation as 'Pooja' begets the attention of others. Raaj Shaandilyaa, who had helmed the first part, is returning to direct 'Dream Girl 2'. The film is backed by Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures.

Besides Ayushmann Khurrana, the film also stars Ananya Panday, Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav, Seema Pahwa, Manjot Singh and Abhishek Banerjee.
