As soon as the 30-second clip went online, it attracted a flood of mixed reactions from users. Also, film critics expressed their doubts over Akshay's Lord Shiva avatar. After Prabhas and Kriti Sanon's Adipurush controversy, the launch of Akshay's upcoming film has led to speculations among fans and movie enthusiasts, who are now expecting a better representation of mythological characters.

Considering the same, the majority of the reactions to Akshay’s post are requests and advice that the film should not be another reason to hurt religious sentiments.

One user expressed high hopes, saying this film will not hurt Hindus. "Akshay ji, I hope this film will not hurt Hindus and the religion aspect," he commented.

A second user wrote, "Sanatan Dharm ka majak nahi hona chahiye film mein."

Requesting Akshay Kumar, one follower said, "Please make sure this does not disrespect our Hindu culture." A fourth person on Instagram warned the filmmakers saying, "Just in case this movie is also a propaganda movie, trust me, Bollywood won’t come back in the near future. Respect the emotions of the nation."

Meanwhile, a user on Twitter shared Akshay's Lord Shiva look and compared it with Saif Ali Khan's Lankesh in Adipurush.

"Look carefully, the surma below the eyes is the same as that of Saif’s look in Adipurush. Another attempt by pseudo-nationalist Akki to mock our Hindu dharam," read the comment.

"Oh great, another sequel. I can’t wait for the same recycled plot and predictable twists," another user expressed.
