Golden Globe Awards 2023 Highlights: SS Rajamouli's RRR lost out the Golden Globe award for the best picture-non English category to Argentina's historical drama Argentina, 1985. It was a bittersweet moment for the team of RRR as minutes earlier the movie's hit track "Naatu Naatu" won the award for the best original song motion picture. "Argentina, 1985", directed by Santiago Mitre, is based on real events and follows the events surrounding the 1985 Trial of the Juntas, which prosecuted the ringleaders of Argentina's last civil-military dictatorship.

    SS Rajamouli's "RRR" struck gold at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards by winning the trophy for the best original song motion picture for its hit track "Naatu Naatu". The blockbuster Telugu movie is also nominated for the 'best picture-non English' at the ceremony.

    The Telugu track 'Naatu Naatu' is composed by veteran music director MM Keeravaani and penned by Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj.

    “RRR” emerged a massive box office draw with reported earnings of Rs 1,200 crore globally and has been lauded for Rajamouli’s vision, high-octane fight sequences and Keeravaani’s rousing musical soundtrack.

    The film — which released worldwide last March in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi — received rave reviews from the who’s who of Hollywood, including filmmakers Russo Brothers (“The Gray Man”), Edgar Wright (“Baby Driver”), Scott Derrickson (“Doctor Strange”) and “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise director James Gunn.

    At the Chinese Theatre screening of “RRR” in Los Angeles, “Star Wars” filmmaker JJ Abrams described the movie as “fever dream”, whereas Oscar winner Jessica Chastain in a tweet recently said watching the film was like going to a “party”.
