West Bengal Lok Sabha Election Winners List 2024: The Trinamool Congress party was on track to emerge victorious in the Lok Sabha polls in West Bengal, the state with the third largest representation in the lower house of Parliament, as preliminary polling data showed the party was leading in 29 out of the 42 seats in the state. According to data available on the ECI portal, leading party candidates included Jagadish Chandra Barma Basunia (leading from the Coochbehar seat), Khalilur Rahaman (Jangipur), Pathan Yusuf (Baharampur), Abu Taher Khan (Murshidabad), Partha Bhowmick (Barrackpur), Mahua Moitra (Krishnanagar), Sougata Ray (Dum Dum) and Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar (Barasat). As the counting is in progress the ruling TMC is heading for a landslide victory with wins or leads in over 35,000 gram panchayat seats. In the three-tier panchayat elections TMC has also emerged as a big winner at the Panchayat Samiti and Zilla Parishad levels. The counting of votes for 9,730 Panchayat Samiti seats, 928 Zilla Parishad seats and 63,229 gram panchayat seats began on Tuesday, July 11.
