In a Major success, all the 41 trapped workers were rescued from the collapsed Silkyara tunnel on November 28. All of the workers were successfully rescued on the 17th day of the Silkyara tunnel collapse. As soon as the 41 trapped workers were rescued, they were greeted by officials present at the spot. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Minister VK Singh were also present at ground zero. Encouraged by the successful rescue operation, the rescue teams raised slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'. One of the rescued workers gave a thumbs-up the moment he came out of the rescue pipe.

The rescue teams at the Uttarkashi collapsed tunnel site tried to establish contact with the trapped workers. In a major development, the first video of the workers trapped inside the tunnel has finally emerged. The video was captured by an Endoscopy Camera which was sent inside the rubble. Six-inch pipeline was used to send food items to the stranded workers. On November 20, the trapped workers finally had a hot meal after nine days. Rescuers were filling khichdi in cylindrical bottles which were sent to the workers.

The rescue operation at the under-construction tunnel between Silkyara and Dandalgaon to save 41 trapped workers which collapsed on November 12 has entered its ninth day. Heavy machines arrived at Silkyara tunnel on November 20 to facilitate the ongoing rescue operation to bring out the trapped workers. A part of the under-construction Silkyara tunnel collapsed in Uttarkashi on November 12.

On Sunday, a cloudburst took place in Uttarkashi's Mori Tehsil region due to which the Tons river, which passes through the state, is overflowing creating trouble for locals. Due to the cloudburst, several people have been stranded at various places in the area. The government has dispatched teams of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to carry out rescue and evacuation operations. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall over the next three days in Uttarkashi.
