As operations to rescue the 41 trapped workers at the Silkyara Tunnel collapse site entered day 16, there was some positive news with Micro tunnelling expert Chris Cooper saying that all the debris of the auger machine has been removed and manual drilling to reach the trapped labourers will start in a few hours.

On the Uttarkashi tunnel collapse rescue mission, Former Advisor to the Prime Minister’s Office, Bhaskar Khulbe on November 23 shared that one of the main hindrances, the presence of steel rods along the path of the rescue pipes have now been removed.
In a sign of growing hope for the rescue of 41 trapped workers in the Silkyara Tunnel, a temporary hospital was set up on November 22 to provide emergency medical assistance. The National Vaccine Van was also called to the rescue site to address any medical emergencies. The rescue operation, which has been underway since November 12, is expected to culminate in the evacuation of the trapped workers by 8 AM on November 23. The temporary hospital and the presence of the National Vaccine Van underscore the authorities' commitment to providing the best possible care for the rescued workers.
