Consumer Affairs Ministry released endorsement guidelines for social media influencers. The government has issued guidelines regarding social media advertisements and different types of endorsements. The government has become strict on fake content and dangerous online gaming in social media. Recently, the government has issued a draft which it states that if fake, fraudulent content is uploaded, updated or shared in social media, then the government can get such fake, fraudulent content removed immediately. Apart from this, the government can also remove dangerous online games immediately. At present, the government has sought suggestions from all the stakeholders on the new draft till January 25.
