As per the agreement, Polaris Smart Metering will supply, commission, install and maintain smart meters for consumers and system metering across the consumer base in these clusters for the next 10 years, it said.

Under the National Smart Grid Mission that was launched by Centre on July 20, 2021, as many as 23 crore Smart meters have been sanctioned so far out of which 3.65 crore Smart meters have been ordered. The states have so far installed 66.18 lakh smart meters. The Central government aims to install 25 crore smart meters by the end of 2025.
