The Supreme Court on Monday acquitted three men facing the death penalty for the gang rape and murder of a 19-year-old woman in Delhi's Chhawla area in 2012. A bench, comprising Chief Justice of India UU Lalit and Justices Ravindra Bhat and Bela Trivedi, set aside the order of conviction passed by the trial court and Delhi High Court and directed them to be set free if not required in any other case.
