Amazon has announced that it will stop accepting Rs 2,000 notes for Cash on Delivery (COD) payments from September 19, 2023. Former Reserve Bank Deputy Governor R Gandhi on Friday said withdrawal of the Rs 2,000 bank notes will help in curbing black money to a "great extent" because people are hoarding the high value currency.
The Reserve Bank of India has decided to withdraw the Rs 2,000 banknotes from circulation. However, the central bank has said that the currency notes will continue to be legal tender till 30 September.
