RBI dividend to government: The report states that following the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) announcement of a record dividend of Rs 2.11 lakh crore to the central government for the financial year 2023-24, a substantial reduction in the fiscal deficit is on the horizon.

This allocation exceeds the previous high of Rs 1.76 lakh crore in 2018-19, indicating a significant increase in the payout. The decision was made at the 608th meeting of the RBI's Central Board of Directors, chaired by Governor Shaktikanta Das.
